Activities happening over the October mid-term break in Ireland!!
Nore Valley, Kilkenny
Valley host a Halloween event every year and it is not to be missed! They have activities running all weekend from Friday 27th October to Tuesday the 31st October. These include a torch light treasure hunt, find clues to solve the puzzle and win a prize! Check out the terrifying scare maze, enjoy toasted marshmallows around the bonfire, carve pumpkins and lots more!
All of this is open to the public except for Saturday the 29th of October which is exclusively for camping residents only. You can avail of tickets at a discounted rate while staying here!

Castlearchdale, Fermanagh
Another great campsite running activities over Halloween! On Saturday the 28th of October they have a kid’s disco from 2pm – 4pm, pumpkin carving from 4- 6pm (bring your own pumpkin) and a Fancy Dress Torchlight Parade, Trick or Treat and Traditional Harvest Supper!!
Not too far away from here there is plenty going on, the Marble Arch caves are only a 45-minute drive away where you can experience Spooktacular!!
Closer by in Enniskillen there is a fireworks display happening on 31st of October at 6pm with entertainment, fire performers and the Belfast Avenger team will there on the night looking for the next member to join their team! Spot prizes on the night for best fancy dress! When talking about fun activities in Ireland for adults, the Marble Arch Caves and the fireworks display in Enniskillen are definitely worth checking out.
Kenmare, Co. Kerry
If you are searching for fun things to do in Northern Ireland for couples, look no further. For the last five years Kenmare have held a Halloween howl festival! It runs over 8 days with loads of activities and entertainment happening. It begins this year on Friday the 27th of October and ends on November 4th. Kenmare Camping is ideally located near to Kenmare town just a 5-minute drive so you can choose to spend all your time enjoying the festival or take a couple of days to explore the beautiful surrounding areas of Kenmare.
Hidden Valley
Hidden Valley host a Monster Mash every year with lots happening over the weekend including, trick or treating, fancy dress, spooky storytelling, games and amazing special effects!!
In nearby Wicklow you can visit Wicklow’s historic Gaol (Prison)! There are spooky games for kids, there is a family fancy dress night and if you are brave enough to walk through the gates of the Gaol you will be treated to a movie and treats! This should definitely make your list of ideas for family holidays in ireland, kids love it!!

Derry
Last but, not least on our our list for October Mid-Term Break fun activities, is Derry! We couldn’t compile a list of Halloween events, in Ireland, without mentioning Derry! Renowned for their annual Halloween events, it never disappoints. With a wide range of activities over 40 venues across the city, the choice is yours! The majority of these take place over the four days leading up to the huge parade and fireworks display on Tuesday the 31st of October!
The neighbouring town of Strabane has also developed a Halloween programme that has plenty to offer too!
