There is something satisfying about beginning your Irish adventure in the heart of the country. Our Roscommon depot sits at Golf Links Road, Roscommon Town, 150km from Dublin, 75km from Galway, and an hour from Sligo and the start of the Wild Atlantic Way. Wherever in Ireland you want to go, you can be on your way within a morning.

Joe and the team will walk you through everything before you leave. How the gas works, how to set up the bed, where we recommend stopping on your first night. The handover takes about half an hour, and customers often say that is the moment the holiday actually begins.

We also have a secure yard where you can leave your car while you are out on the road. It is one of those practical details that makes the whole trip easier.

Why start from Roscommon

Roscommon Town is genuinely central. If you are heading for the Wild Atlantic Way, Sligo is just over an hour north and is considered the gateway city to the entire western route. Galway is 75 kilometres south-west, putting Connemara, Achill Island and the Cliffs of Moher all well within reach. Head north and you have Donegal and Malin Head. Go south and you have Clare, Kerry and West Cork. Head east and Dublin is around two hours away – if you are flying in, take a look at our campervan hire near Dublin Airport option, with pickup from our Greystones depot.

Our customers have started trips to all of these places from this depot. The A72 has been to Kerry and back several times. The Dethleffs has done Connemara in February. The V66 has covered Connemara with a couple who spent five magical days there. These are not routes we invented. They are routes our customers have driven, in our vans, and come back raving about.

The fleet leaving from Roscommon

All vehicles in our fleet are 2023 or newer. Every one goes through a full mechanical check to Fiat Professional standard and a complete habitation service (including a third-party gas safety check) before it leaves on a hire. You are not inheriting someone else’s problem. You are collecting a vehicle that has been properly prepared.

Our fleet runs from the compact V66 and V69 (perfect for couples) up through the 4-berth Dethleffs and Sunlight A68, to the 6-berth A72 and A70 for families or groups travelling together. If you are not sure which size suits your trip, Joe will help you figure it out before you commit.

Every hire includes full 24-hour breakdown cover across Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK. It is included in the price. Not an extra, not a hidden charge.

What to expect on pickup day

The process is straightforward. You arrive, sign the rental agreement, go through the demonstration together, load your bags, and you are on the road. Joe will take you through everything in the van: the heating, the water, how the slide-out beds work, where the gas isolation valve is. Most people find it less complicated than they expected.

Two days before your hire begins, you will receive our online check-in email. You can upload your driving licence, confirm your details, choose your security deposit option, and add any extras you want (bed linen, table and chairs) at your own pace. By the time you collect the van, most of the paperwork is already done.

When you return, we check the vehicle over together, and if there is no damage, your security deposit is released the same day.

Security Deposit Options

We offer three deposit levels: €2,000, €1,000 and €500, with different excess amounts for each. You can choose the one that suits you when you book, and change it up to two days before pickup if you change your mind. Finnian will send you the details when you book.
